The salvage vehicle is used in the case of incidents on the track. The wagon can run both on the road and on the track. The container on the back is placed on and off the wagon with a VDL hooklift and contains materials for resolving the incidents.
The salvage vehicle is a Volvo FM, converted into a rail-way vehicle by Hilton Engineering.

In the case of an incident, it is important to clear the track as quickly as possible. For example, if the track is blocked after an accident. ProRail's Incident Prevention department also takes care of this. With the aid of specially equipped vehicles that can also reach the track at places that are difficult to access.
